All About Super Bikes

Attraction for racing dates back to millennia. Early history shows, that throughout the world racing had been the part of our life. Even in present times the popularity quotient remains intact though the mode of this adventure sport has altered in a distinguished way. We would be discussing on bike-racing. Before Super Bikes arrival means till late 1960s there were 3 types of motorcycles primarily.

These are, Working Bikes, General Bikes and Touring Bikes. These all are came before Super Bikes. In detail, Working Bikes were with below 250cc, low powered engine especially for assisting the average working gentleman. General Bikes were with below 500cc/650cc for the similar purpose as stated above however they were capable of doing more works as they had higher powered engines. Touring Bikes were designated to any bike that had more power than the previous stated two types. These were mainly produced for the purpose of touring. The Super Bikes are came after these bikes.

Vincent Motorcycles was the first company to come out from the mould. The touring bike that they produced was able generate an amazing speed in comparison to contemporary vehicles. It became immensely popular since the handling of the device was basic, too. Subsequently in the 1960s, two bikes were developed which could have been utilized in both ways, in a daily commuting role as well as weekend racing. These are regarded as the first Super Bikes. The first was known as the BSA Rocket 3/Triumph Trident. Subsequently Honda CB750K followed it.

Although, it was the 1971 Kawasaki Z1, with its 900cc DOHC engine that finally brought in the age of the modern Super Bikes. Amazing success of this bike compelled Japanese manufacturers in copying the design of Z1 formula and its DOHC inline-4 engine configuration to produce their own product by the end of the decade. Soon as the fight for supremacy among Japanese manufacturers grew which was followed by a steep investment, the British product went off the market.

Presently the Super Bike motorcycles have 1000cc four-stroke machine assisted by either two or four cylinders. 900cc triplets are also allowed, although only in Benelli and Foggy Petronas. There are extraordinary models in super bikes which will give complete satisfaction.
